For the most unusual feet with very special needs, a full-custom shoe can be made based on a full plaster cast model of the foot. The casting may only be done by a Certified Pedorthist (C-PED) or Doctor of Podiatry (DPM). The shoe price is $1,250 plus casting and or consulting fees set by the CPED or DPM. Casting and consulting fees are established by the CPED or DPM and are not controlled by Rocket7. The Prescription shoe includes everything: choice of colors (from Rocket7 color swatch), cleat mounting options and custom integrated footbed. Full custom shoes require 6 – 9 weeks to build and are subject to the needs of further adjustments and alterations. It is advised to plan well in advance, as an investment in a pair of prescription shoes goes far beyond your immediate needs for hitting a race deadline. These shoes are generally for people with foot conditions that often boarder on severe medical conditions. The time involved in producing these shoes is very intensive. Rocket7 does not issue exact delivery dates nor adjustment dates on full RX/ Prescription projects. The needs of each customer will range widely and thus the time needed to complete each project will vary. There are no discounts or special offers on these projects.
What are the Differences Between Stock Sizes and Full Custom?
It is important to note that this is not “better & best” offering. One shoe is not “better” than the other. Rather one is tailored for needs that are so specific that even within the realm of “custom shoes” is less than a 1% of the time scenario. Our AA – EEE shoe-last library is the most complete offering for a cycling shoe ever assembled and is designed to give you a great fit, in a timely manner, and with options not found elsewhere.
